Family/whanau programmes

More positive experiences during mental illness or addiction will result in a greater ability to cope with the stresses involved in family management.

People with mental illness or addiction are more prone to having difficulties in managing the tasks associated with their families. Our operations reflect the importance of caregivers and family/whanau in our clients’ lives.

At the client’s request, and only with the client’s consent, the whanau/family will be encouraged to participate in the planning and execution of any activity or service.

Individual programme plans

Clients will be involved in the development of their Individual Programme Plans, and will sign the plan to indicate acceptance of the goals and personal strategies of the plan. Completed plans will be placed in individual client files.

Where a client requests, or accepts the suggestion, family/whanau or caregivers will be invited to participate in the planning and goal-setting process.
